Where is my progress saved?
On your device, and in your iCloud or Google backup if you have device backups turned on.
Will I lose my progress if I reinstall?
Deleting the app deletes its save. On Android, reinstalling brings it back from your Google backup if backups are on. On iPhone and iPad, restoring the device from an iCloud backup that includes the game brings it back.
Can I move my progress to a new phone?
Yes, through your device's own backup: iCloud for iPhone and iPad, Google backup for Android. Progress can't move between iPhone and Android.
Does it need the internet?
No. Sector Defence plays fully offline.
Are there ads or in-app purchases?
No. The game is free, with no ads and nothing to buy.
How do I unlock Normal and Hard?
Win on the hardest difficulty you've unlocked to open the next one. Easier difficulties stay open to replay.
I keep losing. Any tips?
You keep all your research when you lose. Spend your points, try a different mix of towers, and check the Field guide in the pause menu for the sector's terrain.
Can I play the same map as a friend?
Yes. Every sector has a number. On New deployment, tap # and enter your friend's number to get the same map.
When does the Weekly change?
Every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Everyone plays the same sector that week.
Can I undo my research?
Yes. Refund all returns every point, free, before you place towers or after a battle ends. It isn't available mid-battle.
Can I make the text bigger?
Yes. Settings has three text sizes. Map colours there includes Signal, a high-contrast palette for the battlefield.
Battles look choppy. Can they run smoother?
Battery saver is on by default and runs battles at 30 frames a second. Turn it off in Settings to run at up to your screen's refresh rate.
